“You are incredible! You really did create a perfect diary of our magical day. Professional, friendly, approachable, talented, hard working, passionate and fun. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!”
Roxy and James

How did this unique wedding unfold?

Roxanna and James wedding was a wonderful summer fairground country party at Kentwell Hall in Sudbury. The blend of the bride and groom’s Iranian and English heritage became a party of colours and happy laughs.

Roxanna got ready with her bridesmaids at a nearby cottage amongst baby’s laughs and home cooked breakfast before heading to the stately home for the ceremony. After a joyful ceremony full of amusing family speeches the couple ventured to their new life together along the longest confetti line we have photographed so far!

The sunny afternoon games started with the bridesmaids playing flower ring hoopla with the groom’s head! Then came the ferris wheel that amazed all the guests, followed by racket and throwing games. A beautifully decorated barn was set for dinner and a table of Iranian traditional weddings offerings was set up alongside jars of sweets and naughty alcoholic shots ready for the party fun later that evening!

As the sun dropped, the guest chilled under tents and on armchairs spread out across the fairground field, The games came to an end and then the colourful, crazy, night party began! Drinks were consumed, fun as had and lots of love was shared. A wonderful fireworks display concluded this beautiful summer day for this bohemian countryside wedding. It really was a perfect day.

THEIR WHOLE unique STORY...

Who did your beautiful make up?
I did my own make up. I went and got a lesson a few weeks before.

Who styled your elegant hair?
One of my bridesmaids’ sister is a hairdresser and she kindly came and did all our hair. James did his own 😉

Where did your flowers come from?
One of the ushers’ sister does wedding flowers as a hobby (hard to believe as they were so incredible). She got up early the day before and went to the flower market in London.

What’s the story behind the Haribo jelly engagement ring?
James had Rox’s engagement ring in the car just incase there was an opportune moment. He knew he wanted to propose but hadn’t at this point conjured up a plan. It then it all fell into place. They had a mega day out exploring the city, stopped for a couple of Aperol Spritz’s before dinner, I then fooling around, as they do, James bought some Haribo star mix and jokingly proposed to Rox with a jelly ring. Rox didn’t know what to make of it, until He whipped out the real one and it all became much more real. It was such a perfect day!

Where did your wedding dress come from and why did you choose that one?
It came from a little boutique close to home where my sister also bought her dress. I tried on loads, but as soon as I put this one on I knew it was ‘the one’. I liked that I could dance freely in it!

What made you choose your venue for your wedding?
We fell in love with the venues quirks and history, but also the fact that we could have a blank canvas to create a day that was our own and totally unique to us.

We loved the wedding Ferris wheel, such a great idea, where did you get it?
We hired a ferris wheel from Empire Rides. Bit of an indulgence, but once we got the idea in our heads, we couldn’t get it out!

Do you have any tips and advice for other couples planning their wedding day?
Do what you want! This is your day. Don’t feel bound by traditions. If you don’t want to cut a cake, have a first dance or a sit down meal, don’t! Think about what makes you you and try and reflect that in your day.

What made you choose your details and styling for your wedding?
We wanted a wedding that was laid back, bright and fun. We also wanted to create a rustic country vibe with a Persian twist to symbolise the merging of our families.

How did you guys meet?
We’ve actually known each other for about 10 years, but only got together about 4 years ago. We met through a mutual friend at V Festival but didn’t really talk much for the next 6 years – me thinking James was an idiot and James thinking I was boring! On a group holiday one year however, something seemed to change. One evening we scored a successful second place in one of our beer pong championships. Slightly tipsy, we then took some time alone, lay on the giant trampoline, gazed out at the stars and just chatted away. It felt like we’d known each other for a lifetime. Cheesy, but true!

What were your favourite part of your wedding day?
So many faves! Just having everyone we love and care about all in the same place. Surreal, but awesome. We loved saying our vows. We loved the ferris wheel, the fireworks and the happy/merry looks on people’s faces as they danced the night away! Memories we’ll cherish.

Who provided your entertainment and why did you choose them?
We had a AMAZING band called The Long Staws. We found them on a site called Alive Network. We listened to hundreds of bands but these guys really stood out. Fun, super talented and a little different. They also agreed to do an acoustic set for us whilst we had reception drinks. It really added to the atmosphere.
