Julie and Deidre’s predestined same-sex wedding

September 10th 2017

It was an absolute pleasure to be asked to photography Julie and Deirdre’s wedding. They had been in a relationship for a long time so a lot of people had been waiting eagerly for this special day to arrive. Close loved ones gathered in the family living room in the morning. Fun tunes played around the room while makeup was applied children danced and champagne was topped up.

Waltham Forest Registry office was only a short walk away and turned out to be the perfect venue to gather the close family and friends for the ceremony. This was followed by big hugs and sharing of happy memories within its beautiful garden area.

The celebration then moved to the Hackney Marshes Centre, a very large venue that was overspilling with even more friends ready to watch the second ceremony of the day. The ladies stood beside each other once more under a hand crafted flower arch and their best lady took the part of the minister and married them again in a style very much befitting of their happy characters. After some very emotional speeches, all the guest paraded through the flower arch and took it in turns to hug the happy couple one at a time. Then all that was left was to get those celebrating shoes on and dance to the DJ sounds of another dear friend of theirs. You can see from the pictures that they definitely signed off this day with some cool parry shapes!
